Walk
Through Flat
Barn Parlor System
As
cows enter the stall their forward motion closes the gates.
This puts the cow in an area that is 32" wide and raised
(10 to 14") on a platform. This also leaves the operator
a cubicle to work from which measures 32" wide and
24" deep. Because the cow is on a raised platform,
the operator doesn't have to push or shove the cow to enter
the milking area between cows.
The
cow is raised for easy access to the udder from the pivoting
swivel seat provided for the operator. The seat height is
adjustable for added comfort.
When
milking is complete the cow opens the stanchion gates when
the release cable is pulled by the operator, allowing the
cow to exit through fully opening gates. When the cow clears,
the gates return by gravity through the locking control
to a position ready for the next cow to enter.
All stalls and partitions are bolted together and anchored
to the floor. The stalls can be added to, moved or replaced
without breaking the concrete.
The concrete
work is simple, all flat work on two levels. Level one includes
the entrance walkway from the holding area and the milker's
cubicle. Level two includes the cow platform and exit walkways.
The
drawings show general specifications on our Agromatic Flat
Parlor Stall. Width per stall is 4' wide on centers. Recommended
minimum barn width for a double row installations is 28'.
Platform
length is an important part of the operation of the stall,
65" to 66" is average, but breed and size of the
cows will determine length. For platform height, 10"
to 14" is an easy and safe height for cows to step
up onto.
